Dr. Mohler, if you're out there, I suggest you lead with this:

"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." Jesus - John 6:44

And then follow up with John 12:32 -- "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, wil draw all men to myself." Oh wait, that one won't work.

Actually, that is not a problem, for Dr. Patterson does not view that verse as a statement of universalism either.

But, it shows you are thinking, and that is good.

I can see how someone might get universalism out of it, but I don't. It just says that all men will be drawn to Him, which satisfies the prerequisites of the previous verse -- "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him ...." So, we could say that everyone has been "nominated." And, as one person said, "Anyone that accepts their nomination God will elect."
