The rumor today is that France has hired Baghdad Bob to be the official spokesman of the republic. His first statement in his new capacity: No Americans died in the liberation of France, in fact no Americans were here at all. France did not need liberating. France was luring Germany into a trap and waiting for the right moment to spring it on the unsuspecting Nazis. But the war unfortunately ended and Germany withdrew to avoid repurcussions and France never had the opportunity to act.
