I cannot help but mention that I think the speakers at the funeral of Coretta Scott King, who took the opportunity to criticize President Bush, who was on the platform, was tasteless, crass and mean. The remarks were about the war, wiretapping and Hurricane Katrina. The remarks had nothing to do with the funeral and, frankly, dishonor the memory of Mrs. King.

Shame also on the crowd for its boisterous applause. You cannot expect the President to attend your events if you are going to act this way. He took a higher ground than you. He went to honor her. You dishonored him, and, therefore, her, but turning the attention away from Mrs. King and onto the current political scene. It was really very tacky.
