GOD'S WILL

Paul appealed to Caesar in Acts 25 so that Festus could not turn him over to the Jews who intended to murder him. As a result, he appeared before King Agrippa, who was king over the region. He was then sent to Rome. In all of this God accomplished his will for Paul as he expressed to Ananias upon Paul's conversion: "...for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings..." (Acts 9:15)

God will accomplish his will for your life if you are surrendered to him. Paul was praying in Acts 9, after his conversion, no doubt asking God to guide him. Many people are worried that they will miss God's will because they are not smart enough to see it. But God is not a trickster. He does not chose you for a purpose, then make it impossible to accomplish.

Our concern should be surrender to his will and prayer for direction, trusting God to accomplish his will. He is sovereign, he will do it. It just might not be what you planned or how you planned.

Paul planned to rise through the ranks of the Pharisees to become important in Jewish life. God chose Paul to be his missionary and theologian.
