Haiti appears to be in the throws of a coup, although it apparently took several days before people noticed it was worse that usual there. The opposition has taken nine towns. 40 people have died. It is almost as bad as gang activity in Los Angeles.

To prove their political points, the most notable activity has been looting television sets from stores.

The government states that it will take back the towns. No one is sure why. Also, they need a plan. The last one did not work too well, as they used the police, several of whom were shot or hung and their bodies mutilated. Sources say it is even worse that Mardi Gras.

This is another place we should just fence off and wait until someone calls and says that civilization has been established. But, they would probably have to call us collect.
