BOAST IN THE LORD. I received this by email. "The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember:

Noah was a drunk

Abraham was too old

Isaac was a daydreamer

Jacob was a liar

Leah was ugly

Joseph was abused

Moses had a stuttering problem

Gideon was afraid

Rahab was a prostitute

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young

Elijah was suicidal

Isaiah preached naked

Jonah ran from God

Naomi was a widow

Job went bankrupt

Peter denied Christ

Zaccheus was too small

Paul was too religious

Samson had long hair and was a womanizer

David had an affair and was a murderer

The Disciples fell asleep while praying

Martha worried about everything

Mary Magdalene was….well you know

The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once

Timothy had an ulcer

AND Lazarus was dead!

Now! No more excuses! God can use you. "

Yes, I know some liberties were taken. But it reminded me of 1 Corinthians 1:26 and following: Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the follish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things-and the things that are not-to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

Rather than boast in ourselves, we glorify God. When people say we are insignificiant, we say yes, but God is significant. When people say the church is full of weak people, we say yes, but God is strong enough to glorify himself through these weak people. We boast in the Lord.
