This is the hymn as originally written by John Newton. You’ll notice stanzas normally left out of
the Baptist hymnal, and that the famous last stanza was added later.

Here's a good description of the Judeo-Christian religion.

Virgin births, blood sacrifices, talking donkeys, genocide, infanticide,slave trading, stoning non-virgins to death, stoning homosexuals to death, etc. In other words, absolute Stone Age bullshit!! Gotta love it!!
I'm sorry you cannot consider Jesus because you feel the Bible is only human, despite its claim to be divine. I guess you cannot accept the virgin birth because it is not natural. But you would expect God to be supernatural. Otherwise, he would only be human and not God.
