The Reverend Pat Robertson says Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's massive stroke could be God's punishment for giving up Israeli territory. This is so inappropriate. At a time of national crisis for Israel and great anxiety for all who have loved or revered this great leader, why could he not have simply expressed his sympathy or offered his prayers. Instead, his rabid Dispensationalism and desire for the limelight has again brought reproach on the Name.

Coming on the heels of Robertson's call for the assasination of the president of Venezuela, this comment shows that Robertson's judgment is impaired and his board of directors should consider forcing him into retirement. It is time for this snarling dog to be muzzled.

How long until Robertson's statement that the Hajj stampede today was Divine Retribution? And/Or that the luggage was a symbol for Christ, the stumbling block?

I think he will keep quiet. He has now posted an apology for his comments about the stroke. It would be good if he would not say anything at all for about a year.
