CALL ME ISHMAEL. The French government has fined Brigitte Bardot $6,000 for comments she made in her book! We take freedom of speech for granted here in the U.S.A., but even in a supposed democracy like France, criticism of the government can land you in hot water. No wonder they oppose democracy in Iraq. The do not believe in it at home.

Bardot's books is called "Un cri dans le silence". That means "A Cry in the Silence". Bardot criticizes the "Islamization" of France. France has about 5 million Muslims and is having real trouble with them.

The book is also critical of the homosexual rights movement, a scared cow of all liberal people.

Let's go buy the book. It already reached the top of bestseller list in France. It sold over 300,000 copies. The controversy will probably make it sell more, unless the government censors it.

This is exactly the kind of behavior one expects from a Muslim country.
